marca el comienzo del año Iraní y es el primer día de la Primavera. Astronómicamente marca el punto Aries γ (el cruce de la eclíptica con el ecuador celeste). Se celebra también en todos los paises de tradición Irania y en muchos otros del Asia Central: Azerbaiyán, Afganistán, Uzbekistán, Tayikistán, Turkmenistán, Pakistán, partes de India y entre los kurdos. También se celebra en Turquía y en algunos otros países de la región. Estos rituales, que van desde repintar las casas o visitar a los amigos a preparar comidas simbólicas, están imbuidos de un espíritu de renovación y pueden inspirar no sólo a quienes los practican, sino a todas las personas.

marks the beginning of the Iranian year and is the first day of Spring. Astronomically it marks the Aries point γ (the junction of the ecliptic with the celestial equator). It is also celebrated in all the countries of Iranian tradition and in many others of Central Asia: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, parts of India and among the Kurds. It is also celebrated in Turkey and some other countries in the region. These rituals, which range from repainting houses or visiting friends to preparing symbolic meals, are imbued with a spirit of renewal and can inspire not only those who practice them, but all people.
